Privacy policy
Version of 19 September 2026
This page explains what data the civic initiative Ukraine. By Us collects, why, and how we protect it. In short: we collect your words, not you.
Who is responsible for the data
The NGO Ukraine. By Us (ГО «Україна.Нами»). For any question about data, write to ukrainebyus@gmail.com.
What we collect
The text of your answers to the questionnaire. A few general characteristics in groups: living in Ukraine or abroad, region or country, type of settlement, age group and, optionally, sex, experience of displacement, connection to military service and self-assessed proximity to the front line.
To protect the map from automated and repeat submissions, the system records technical session signals. They are stored separately from the text of the answer and used only to verify reliability.
What we do not collect
The questionnaire does not ask for your name, surname, tax number, document number, address, phone number or email. Exact age and exact address are not stored. Please do not include in your answers anything that could identify you or other people.
Why
Answers are coded and analysed to build a map of meanings: what unites people with different experiences and where they differ. The general characteristics show whether different generations and different parts of the country are heard in the map.
What becomes public
Only aggregated results are published: the map of meanings, aggregate figures and the dataset of codes. Individual quotations may be used only in anonymised form, so that their author cannot be identified.
Where and for how long data is stored
Data is stored on infrastructure in the European Union. Only members of the project's analytical team have access. Technical session signals are kept no longer than needed to verify the reliability of the cycle's answers. Answer texts and characteristics are kept for the research cycle and, in anonymised form, to keep the results reproducible.
Who receives the data
We do not sell or transfer data to third parties and do not send mailings. Partner organisations do not see individual answers and do not influence the analysis.
Your rights
Under the Law of Ukraine on Personal Data Protection and the EU General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR), you may contact us to access, correct or delete your data. Because the questionnaire is anonymous, we can locate a specific answer only from details you give us, such as its text and the approximate time it was sent.
Changes
If this policy changes, the new version will appear on this page with an updated date.
